DEMENTIA

Dementia Awareness & Research

Andy Harvard’s life was cut short by Younger Onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Since the beginning, and inspired by Andy’s story, we have also been working tirelessly to raise awareness, accelerate research and destigmatize Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Andy's life, legacy and The Final Climb all played a role in developing the forthcoming documentary series “Defeating Dementia” slated for nationwide broadcast on over 300 PBS television stations next year.

Inspired again by Andy and others, TFC helped establish the 10K Brains Project, a non-profit that aims to raise $200m to fund cutting edge scientific research.

The project grew out of Andy Harvard’s own experience with younger onset Alzheimer's disease and the need to change the conversation around all neurodegenerative diseases.

Andy’s friends and family came together and raised the seed funding for the series research and development.

Defeating Dementia is part of the Wellbeings series of PBS films on health and wellness.
