MEET THE FINAL CLIMB BOARD MEMBERS

  • Michael Maynard

    CHAIRMAN

    Dartmouth classmate of Andy and past president of their Dartmouth class. Maynard started his career in broadcast production and later worked as an executive at Warner Communications. For the past 35 years he has been an entrepreneur, working primarily in real estate development and investment. Today, he also focuses on pro bono work and fundraising in support of education, the arts, political reform, and medical research. He earned a Bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College and an MBA at Harvard Business School.

  • Kathy Harvard

    BOARD MEMBER

    Wife and care partner of Andy Harvard and founding member of The Final Climb. She is an educator and activist in the fight to end Alzheimer's disease and is a member of the Governor’s (NH) Sub-Committee on Alzheimer’s and other Dementia, board member of the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/ New Hampshire Chapter, federal and state advocate with the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement and long time chair of the Upper Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She is the head of marketing and sales for InnerAsia Rugs and has served in several executive and board positions in human service and arts non-profit organizations following a career in international development with the United Nations Children's Fund.

  • Jed Williamson

    BOARD MEMBER

    Jed Williamson is President Emeritus of Sterling College and the American Alpine Club. He co-designed the "Live, Learn, and Teach" graduate program in experiential education at UNH, where he was on faculty for ten years. He was an instructor and director at various Outward Bound Schools. Jed is one of the founders of the Wilderness Risk Management Committee, which has hosted an annual conference since 1994. He has served on several boards, including NOLS, Central Asia Institute, and SCA, and is currently a member of the NH Outdoor Council. Jed holds a B.A. and an M.Ed. from the Univ. of New Hampshire. He climbed with Andy on Minya Konka and Mt. Everest.

  • Chelsea Congdon

    BOARD MEMBER

    Chelsea Congdonis a co-founder of Kinship (www.kinship.earth), a global conspiracy to use storytelling and art to raise a new cultural narrative of our deep connection and inter-dependence with all life.

    Chelsea earned an MA in Energy and Resources from University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Natural Resource Economics from Yale University. She serves on the Board of Blue Rising Together, a Colorado non-profit dedicated to education, advocacy and outreach around fentanyl poisoning, guns and high potency THC that threaten the lives and wellbeing of young people. 

  • Pete Webster

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Dartmouth classmate of Andy. He is an outdoorsman and whitewater kayak enthusiast and has served as a past president of both the Ledyard Canoe Club and his Dartmouth class. His brilliant mom died from Alzheimer’s disease. Her last four years were especially difficult as her beautiful mind faded.

  • Nathaniel Shoaff

    BOARD MEMBER

    Nathaniel Shoaff is a senior attorney with the Sierra Club's Environmental Law Program based in Montpelier, VT. He first met Andy when he was 10 years old and later lived with Andy, Kathy, and their family during law school. He represents Sierra Club and other conservation organizations in federal courts and state administrative forums, where his work focuses on public lands, climate change, and transportation. Nathaniel received his B.A. from Middlebury College and his J.D. from Vermont Law School.
